Keaton said in March 2014 that this is the only sequel he’s interested in making

Synopsis

After a family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return to their home in Winter River. Lydia, still haunted by Beetlejuice, finds her life turned upside down when her teenage daughter Astrid accidentally opens a portal to the afterlife. Jenna Ortega, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux and Monica Bellucci share why filming Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was an experience they’ll never forget. Tim Burton has said that the film will only happen if Michael Keaton returns to reprise his role. Lydia informs Astrid that Rory wants to get married at midnight on Halloween night.

That would make it November 1st, because midnight is the start of a new day, and therefore it wouldn’t be Halloween anymore. The acting was good

The special effects were amazing. But there were SO many storylines. And none of them had enough time to fully develop. Any one of the storylines could have been the focus of the entire movie. Every single one of them was quickly rehashed and wrapped up so quickly.

It’s really unfortunate

And they put way too much emphasis on Lydia’s father. Honestly, they didn’t even have to address the fact that he wasn’t in the movie. The actor is a sex offender in real life, so why even discuss his character? It didn’t add anything to the movie. There are also a lot of ghosts from part 1 that I think should have been in this sequel – just use make-up and special effects like they did in Beetlejuice.

It was boring

Or recast them if you don’t want them to look old. Other than that, I almost left within the first hour. The movie didn’t get good until the second hour.
