Jean Reno shot walls for the film, but was completely cut out of the finished film

Synopsis

A high-ranking CEO puts her career and family on the line when she begins a whirlwind affair with her much younger intern. I recently watched “Baby”, and I must say that it is one of the most unique and bold thrillers that I have seen recently. The director of the film is Halina Rein, the film is deeply immersed in the complexity of human desires and the dynamics of power, wrapped in an intense, almost suffocating atmosphere.

First, the visuals are stunning

Jasper Wolf’s cinematography conveys the raw emotion of each wall, blending light and shadow to create a somber, almost fairy-tale world. There’s a constant sense of tension, as if something explosive is always on the brink, and the pace keeps you on edge throughout the film. Nicole Kidman gives an amazing performance, bringing to her character a mixture of vulnerability and cold calculation.

However, “Baby” is not for everyone

The supporting cast, although less famous, also does a great job, giving the story depth and unpredictability. Without giving too much away, the film’s exploration of psychological control and subjugation feels both disturbing and mesmerizing. Its erotic elements are tastefully done, but may be uncomfortable or controversial for some viewers.

He’s mesmerizing, stylish and will keep you thinking about him long after the credits roll

The storyline at times seems deliberately vague, leaving you to piece together the characters’ motives, which I found intriguing but may disappoint others. In general, if you like psychological thrillers that do not shy away from taboo topics and go beyond the boundaries, “Baby” is definitely worth watching.
