The son disappears
Synopsis
Tortured father Leon takes his son camping in Appalachia. A local cult summons the malevolent demon. Leon must face the cult, the monster to find it among the growing number of corpses. During the climactic fight with the Hangman, after Leon doesn’t pull the grenade safety (the safety lever is clearly still in place). It wouldn’t have exploded, it would have been better to hit him with it.
Recipe for failure
Leon: What is it, Toots? Written and performed by the same person? It’s very rare that someone in this field knows how to multitask. Here we have the writer who also plays the main character. Well, he can’t act.
At least not in this movie
And the story was all garbled and rubbish, so clearly he can’t even write. And this seems to be a common theme when people try to do too much in entertainment. But the movie, well, it’s not good. A black man and his son go camping in Appalachia? Break.
We don’t do that
First of all, camping is not one of our favorite activities. Second, we know better than to go to the place of racism. The awkward connection at the beginning should have told me to turn this movie off. But then we meet the local racists. Sigh.
It was recited
It has been done to death. Then there’s this executioner. It was more of an afterthought. If they had focused more on that and the cult and moved away from the racism which added nothing, then maybe it could have been a 3 star instead of a 1.
